nLE Celebrates 22nd Annual Gathering

In July 2026, nehiyawak Language Experience (nLE) celebrated its 22nd Annual Gathering in One Arrow First Nation.
This year’s gathering brought together Sturgeon Lake First Nation Mentor-Apprentice participants and approximately 50 Cree language learners from across Canada. It was an opportunity for learners and language advocates to come together, share experiences, and celebrate the ongoing work of revitalizing and strengthening the Cree language.
During the gathering, nLE also held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), where we shared updates on new and upcoming projects and research.
Looking ahead, nLE is planning to develop two Cree Language Houses as part of our continued efforts to create opportunities for Cree language learning and community-based language revitalization.
Stay tuned for upcoming workshops and other nLE activities!
